Employees are the backbone of any and all businesses out there. You can run a company on your own for a long time, but the moment you bring a new hire into the fold, the workload halves and the day goes twice as fast!

As such, it’s best to give back to your employees every now and then. Making them feel appreciated will encourage them to continue giving it their all, and it’s also a chance for you to let loose as the boss.

That’s why company parties are usually the reward of choice. They’re a simple way to have fun. Put on a bash for your employees to enjoy at the company’s expense; this also shows them you’re not afraid to have a good time!

And if that sounds like a great idea to you, here’s how to throw a company party your employees will love.

Get Out of the Office

Your staff will have spent most of their time here as is – don’t make them celebrate in the same place as well! Make the party a bit more special by getting out of the office. You’ll certainly have a lot more space to make use of, and if you’re concerned about alcohol going anywhere near computers, this will eliminate the costly spillage risk.

Indeed, look to hire out a venue for a few hours at least, and make sure it’s one your employees can easily access. If anyone is going to have a hard time getting there, book a taxi on the company account to ensure everyone has the chance to have fun as a team.

Hire Caterers for the Event

Don’t rely on employees to bring their own dishes – sort of like a pot luck – and don’t try to cater last minute either. While you can grab some pre-packed sandwiches and snacks from a nearby convenience store, that isn’t going to make anyone feel very thanked!

So instead, hire a company like Saint Germain Catering to prepare and serve food for you. Not only will this ensure there’s a great spread to pick from, but having qualified caterers on site minimizes the chances of food accidents, waste, and a big mess to clean up at the end.

Hand Out Awards

These are great for recognizing the employees that have really put the time and effort in this past quarter. After everyone has arrived and a few drinks have gone round, why not pop up a mic stand and host a mini awards ceremony?

If you can ensure everyone in attendance gets an award of some kind – and you can buy little trophies and plaques for them in advance – not a single person will go unappreciated over the night.

Throwing a company party is usually the best, most enjoyable way to show your employees you care. Give back to them by throwing one at least once a year; we know budgets can be tight, but saving space for an annual celebration should be manageable!
