Mirror, mirror, on the wall… who is doing life behind bars

A new study by QR Code Generator has determined how long Disney villains would serve in prison if their fantasy crimes turned into reality. Five iconic Disney villains and their crimes were analyzed under modern U.S. criminal law.

Queen Grimhilde (Evil Queen) Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Charges: Attempted murder, solicitation to murder, attempted assassination of a royal, and identity fraud. Estimated Sentence: Attempted murder: Maximum 20 years
Solicitation to murder: Maximum 20 years
Attempted assassination of a royal: Any number of years to life

Identity Fraud: Maximum 20 years

Crimes: The Evil Queen committed solicitation to murder by ordering the huntsman to kill Snow White and later committed attempted murder herself through the poisoned apple. Since Snow White is a princess, the Evil Queen’s acts against her are more serious.

Did you know? The Magic Mirror might be legally classified as an accessory to attempted murder, depending on its level of sentience and cooperation.

Court case tagline: “The Queen ignored her AI-powered mirror…now she is facing trial instead of her reflection.”

Captain Hook Peter Pan

Charges: Piracy, kidnapping, attempted murder, and torture.

Estimated Sentence: Piracy: Life in prison
Kidnapping: Minimum 20 years
Attempted murder: Maximum 20 years
Torture: Maximum 20 yearsCrimes: Captain Hook tortured Tiger Lily by tying her to an anchor and threatening to drown her unless she gave him information. Captain Hook attempted to murder Peter Pan, Wendy, the Lost Boys, and his own crew by using bombs, guns, cannons, and making them walk the plank. Tiger Lily, Wendy, and the Lost Boys were also kidnapped by Captain Hook, whose pirate antics would land him in prison for life.

Did you know? Captain Hook’s high-seas hijinks would lead him on international watchlists for crimes against children and he could be charged with premeditated wildlife-assisted homicide for feeding people to crocodiles.

Court case tagline: “Hook’s on trial and this time he has more to lose than just his hand.”

Jafar Aladdin

Charges: Treason, attempted murder, false imprisonment, and blackmail.

Estimated Sentence: Treason: Death sentence or minimum of five years and fined

Attempted murder: Maximum 20 years

False imprisonment: 10 years or more

Blackmail: Maximum 1 year

Crimes: Jafar committed treason when he attempted to overthrow the Sultan and take over Agrabah. He tried to murder Aladdin by sending him to be executed, trapping him in the Cave of Wonders, and throwing him off a cliff. Jafar confined the genie to the lamp, committing false imprisonment and blackmailing him.

Did you know? In legal terms, Jafar did not just commit a coup; by wishing for ‘ultimate power’ he turned himself into the magical equivalent of a nuclear weapon. Plus, he violated nearly every workplace policy for palace advisors.

Court case tagline: “Jafar is on a one-way magic carpet ride to jail, follow the case as Agrabah abolishes the position of Royal Vizier.”

Ursula The Little Mermaid

Charges: Treason, attempted murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and fraud in the inducement.

Estimated Sentence: Treason: Death sentence or minimum of five years and fines

Attempted murder: Maximum 20 years

Kidnapping: Minimum 20 years

False imprisonment: 10 years or more

Fraud in the inducement: Void contract, fines, and possible prison sentence

Crimes: Ursula committed fraud by deceiving Ariel into signing a contract when she did not know the consequences. Ursula’s crimes continued when she kidnapped Ariel and falsely imprisoned the merfolk. She also tried to murder Eric and Ariel with a trident and a storm.

Did you know? Ursula also committed identity fraud when she transformed into Vanessa to deceive Prince Eric and attempted regicide with her plans to overthrow King Triton.

Court case tagline: “Breaking news: Ursula decides to represent herself, stating that she has expert experience with fine print law documents.”

Scar The Lion King

Charges: Murder, conspiracy to commit murder, treason, and fraudulent misrepresentation.

Estimated Sentence: Murder: Death or imprisonment for life

Conspiracy to murder: Imprisonment for any number of years to life

Treason: Death sentence or minimum of five years and fined

Fraudulent misrepresentation: Monetary damages

Crimes: Scar committed first degree murder when he killed Mufasa, along with conspiracy to murder when he involved the hyenas in the plan. After he committed murder, he committed treason by seizing the throne and fraudulently promised the hyenas free rein in the Pride Lands.

Did you know? Scar’s reign was a classic case of criminal negligence; he caused widespread famine, environmental decay, and reckless endangerment of his kingdom.

Court case tagline: “Scar’s lawyers urge for court-ordered family therapy sessions and community service instead of prison time; Simba had no comment.”

Marc Porcar, CEO at QR Code Generator, commented: “This analysis is where fantasy meets real life consequences. By applying modern U.S. criminal law to these infamous villains and their crimes, we uncover just how dark their actions really are.

“From identity fraud to murder, these characters would be facing decades or life behind bars outside of the movie screen.”
