St. Ignace, MI – Get ready to lace up your walking shoes and embrace the breathtaking views of the iconic Mackinac Bridge! This once-a-year event invites participants to walk the five-mile span of the bridge, celebrating community spirit and stunning natural beauty on Labor Day, September 1, 2025. Whether you choose to make it a leisurely stroll or a challenging double-cross, there’s an option for everyone to enjoy this unforgettable experience.

Walkers can select from three exciting options:

  1. The Halfway Turnaround, where you start from either St. Ignace or Mackinaw City and return to your starting point.
  2. The One-Way Crossing, where you traverse the entire bridge without provided return transportation.
  3. Round Trip (Double Cross), which challenges you to walk both ways for a total of 10 miles. Please note that those participating in the Round Trip must reach the midpoint by 10:00 AM to ensure the bridge reopens on time for traffic.

This year, the starting location in St. Ignace has moved to Bridge View Park for enhanced safety and convenience, while participants from Mackinaw City will begin at the south end of the bridge. Walkers will enjoy a designated left-hand outside paved lane for their journey, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to connect with fellow walkers and take in the stunning vistas of one of Michigan’s most beloved landmarks!
