WHAT
The Village of Rochester Hills, metropolitan Detroit’s premier outdoor lifestyle shopping and dining destination, has brought back The Village Pumpkin Patch for the third year in a row. This October, guests are encouraged to make a $5 donation via a QR Code to Leader Dog for the Blind for each pumpkin they pick.* Pumpkins will be available in Festival Park and will be replenished throughout the month of October.
Leader Dogs for the Blind empower people who are blind or visually impaired with lifelong skills for safe and independent daily travel. They provide the tools and training to reintroduce people to a life of independence, confidence, and companionship with white cane training and their very own Leader Dog.
At Leader Dog every person deserves equal opportunity for travel and independence, with all services provided at no cost. Leader Dog covers the expenses for training, room and board, and travel to their Rochester Hills campus from anywhere in North America. Learn more at www.LeaderDog.org.
“We are so thankful to the Village of Rochester Hills for making Leader Dogs for the Blind part of such a festive community tradition,” stated Melissa Weisse, President and CEO of Leader Dogs for the Blind. “Every pumpkin purchased helps support our mission of providing people who are blind with a highly trained Leader Dog or white cane training. It’s a wonderful reminder of what we can achieve together.”
“Leader Dogs for the Blind have been a part of the Rochester Hills community for decades, and we are honored to support their mission through our Pumpkin Patch,” stated Pam Lindner Marketing Director for The Village of Rochester Hills. “We are proud to connect our guests with a cause that changes lives in our local neighborhoods as well as nationally.”
