(KALAMAZOO, MI—Oct. 2025)—STOMP, the international percussion sensation, returns to Kalamazoo for one performance only at Miller Auditorium on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.
From its beginnings as a street performance in Brighton, England, STOMP has grown into a worldwide phenomenon. Created by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, the production has been seen by more than 26 million people in over 50 countries and continues to tour across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
Using everyday objects as instruments—everything from matchboxes and brooms to supermarket carts and plumbing fixtures—the cast of STOMP transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Synchronized stiff-bristle brooms become a sweeping orchestra; Zippo lighters create a fiery fugue; and industrial items such as dustbins, hub caps, and radiator hoses fill the stage with rhythm, comedy, and movement.
Since its 1991 premiere, STOMP has received rave reviews and numerous awards, including an Olivier Award for Best Choreography (London’s equivalent of the Tony Award), an Obie Award, and a Drama Desk Award. The company has appeared in the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, at the Academy Awards, and on beloved television programs such as Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood and Sesame Street. Their acclaimed HBO special Stomp Out Loud also earned four Emmy nominations and one Emmy Award.

Critics and audiences alike have praised the production:

Celebrating three decades of smashing, bashing, and redefining rhythm, STOMP remains as fresh, funny, and thrilling as ever. Whether you’ve seen it before or are experiencing it for the first time, this anniversary tour promises a performance that will leave the whole family buzzing with energy.
