If you are keen for your home to be as enjoyable as possible to spend time in, there are a lot of approaches you might want to take to achieve this. One way of thinking about it is that you might wish to turn your home into something of a sanctuary. Look around your space and notice what genuinely supports you and what just exists. This is something that can help you in a big way, much more than you might have thought even possible.

This is a vital and integral step in turning your home into a sanctuary, and it’s something that you will definitely want to bear in mind. Even just a small declutter is a great way to ensure you are turning your home into a sanctuary, and it means that you have more of a fresh, open space to start with. This in itself can already shift the emotional temperature of a room, and it’s amazing how quickly that can happen. It’s not about minimalism but about creating space to breathe. When you have that, it’s already more of a sanctuary.

Bring In Comfort & Nature

Two important ingredients for anyone’s sanctuary are to have plenty of comfort and nature in the space with you, so any way you can find to bring these in will help a lot. That can mean upgrading your furniture or simply bringing in some plants from the outdoors. You can even use some artificial flowers in bulk and dot them around the place to make this a reality. It’s amazing how much this can help to create peace and ease, which is, of course, exactly what we are going for here.

Consider The Light

You also want to make sure that you are thinking about the lighting levels, because this changes the mood considerably. Natural light during the day helps to regulate your energy, while at night, you are going to want some softer lamps and warm bulbs to help calm your nervous system. This is a pretty simple hack, but don’t overlook it for that – it’s actually incredibly powerful. Get the lighting right, and the rest really will fall into place in no time.
