LaFontaine Family Amphitheater opens in Central Park 5/28-Milford

WHAT: Celebrate the start of summer in downtown Milford with the inaugural concert of the new LaFontaine Family Amphitheater, featuring Fifty Amp Fuse from 7-10 p.m. on Thursday, May 28. Nestled between the Village’s Downtown and Southside shopping districts, the new amphitheater will come to life with the sights and sounds of a true community effort during the first performance of the annual Summer Concert Series.

 Adorned with handcrafted paper flowers courtesy of the Suzanne Haskew Arts Center, the beautifully decorated stage will shine during its debut in downtown Milford. In addition to live music, attendees will enjoy a mouth-watering harmony of flavors from Smoke Street Barbecue, Palate and Red Dog Saloon, as these local restaurants present a variety of eats and treats for purchase. Beverages will also be available courtesy of the Community Sharing  and Team Huron Valley Special Olympics, and ice cream by Oak Pointe Church.

Fifty Amp Fuse will play two sets from 7-8:15 p.m. and 8:45-10 p.m. A short presentation to thank sponsors of the AMP in Central Park project will begin at 8:15 p.m.

WHY:  The LaFontaine Family Amphitheater is the product of a community-driven initiative to build a one-of-kind outdoor amphitheater in the park, located in downtown Milford. “AMP in Central Park” was an estimated $500,000 project, signifying a strong dedication to the performing arts in Oakland County, and was funded primarily through private donations and grants.

The LaFontaine Family Amphitheater was made possible by the LaFontaine Family, the Rotary Club of Milford, the Huron Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Milford Downtown Development Authority and many others.
