Visit any of the 36 metro Detroit Salvation Army thrift store locations to enjoy 50 percent off clothing on Monday, Sept. 5. Most stores will open at 7 a.m.

Labor Day marks the end of summer. As we embrace the start of a new school year, families will need to prepare their students with new clothes, supplies and more,” said Jacqulynn Idzior, director of operations for The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center. “Our end of summer sale will not only lighten the load for families struggling to buy back-to-school clothing — we’ll have a selection of discounted school supplies available as well.”

In addition to 50 percent savings on clothing, home goods will be  25 percent off all day, and bonus back-to-school sales will occur throughout the event. Whether you’re decorating a dorm room or gearing up for grade school, make your way to a local Salvation Army thrift store on Labor Day for great savings!

Proceeds from all 36 metro Detroit thrift stores benefit The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center’s independently funded, 180-day residential rehabilitation program for men and women.

Founded by William Booth in London, England, in 1865, The Salvation Army is a faith-based, non-profit organization dedicated to serving people in need without discrimination. The ARC is an integral part of TSA’s mission, and offers substance-abusing adults the opportunity to rebuild their lives through a voluntary, short-term residential self-help program designed to establish a sense of dignity, self-esteem and personal strength that will allow them to resist the desire to abuse a substance and regain their rightful place as contributing members of society. Completely self-funded, the ARC draws its entire operating budget from the revenue of the 36 Salvation Army Thrift Stores located in Southeast Michigan.
