Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and the Detroit Pistons have teamed up to offer 50 Michigan kids a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday, Mar. 10. The Pistons Kids Day sweepstakes, running through Thursday, Feb. 28, will give select children ages 8-12 a chance to go to work and do the jobs that support the Pistons on gameday. The sweepstakes aims to highlight the value of team sports and gives kids a chance to experience working with a professional basketball team. To enter, families can visit https://www.nba.com/pistons/BCBSKidsDay.

“At Blue Cross, we have long believed that Michigan’s kids can do anything they imagine,” said Andrew Hetzel, vice president of Corporate Communications at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. “The goal of our MIKidsCan campaign is to engage kids to build healthy habits and become inspired to do great things in their lives. We’re proud to partner with the Detroit Pistons to give 50 kids a chance to have this special experience on gameday.”

Fifty winners will be randomly selected on Friday, Mar. 1 to participate in Pistons Kids Day presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan on Sunday, Mar. 10. As part of their prize package, each child will be given four tickets to watch the Pistons take on the Chicago Bulls and have the opportunity to shadow a member of the Detroit Pistons staff. Roles and responsibilities will include: Game ball delivery, PA announcing, on-air broadcasts, dance team and VIP warmups and box office duties, among many others.

“We are thrilled to team with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan to further promote children’s health and provide an opportunity for youth to learn about what we do to execute an NBA game,” said Ted Van Zelst, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. “Experiencing Detroit Pistons operations on gameday is an incredible chance for children to get hands-on in the sports industry.”

Pistons Kids Day presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan supports Blue Cross’s ongoing commitment to children’s health through its #MIKidsCan campaign – initiatives focused on encouraging kids to adopt healthy habits and get active for at least 60 minutes every day.
