Be it spring, summer, fall, or spring, there are always insects for each season. This is because some insects prefer warmer weather while others surge in the winter. Therefore, the season you’re getting into may determine the kind of insect you’ll see or have to deal with. However, there are certain insects that are usually around at all times of the year. For example, bed bugs, cockroaches, and ants.

Protecting yourself, your family, and property from these annoying pests is therefore essential. It should also be your priority since these pests can be a threat to your health and are capable of causing harm to your property. You can find out more info here if you wish to know more how destructive pests can be.

In this article, we’ve prepared a list of the most common pests for each season and how you can fortify your home against them.

Spring Pest

When it’s spring season, insects who went into long hibernation begin to come out from their nesting area for warmer places. Apart from warmth, they are also outside in search of food, water, finding a mate, and breeding ground. Unfortunately, there’s no better place to find most of these things than our homes! A pest control expert will be needed in case the infestation gets serious.

The following insects are pests that are most active during spring, so you should look out for them:

  1. Mosquitoes
  2. Ants
  3. Termites
  4. Flies
  5. Spiders
  6. Stinging insects
  7. Earwigs

Summer Pest

Summer months create the perfect weather condition for most insects to prosper. The temperature is warmer, greener vegetation, and readily available food. What more could they ask for? Therefore, they become more bothersome and difficult to deal with during this season since it’s usually their prime-time. The most prominent insects you should look out for in this season are:

  1. Mosquitoes
  2. Ants
  3. Flies
  4. Termites
  5. Stinging insects
  6. Ticks
  7. Bats
  8. Fleas

Fall Pest

Like the name “Fall” implies, in this period, the warm weather and green vegetation begin to fall and fade respectively. While most of these invaders are starting to look for shelter or a warmer and cozy place to pass the cold weather, others might be preparing to hibernate. In addition to that, some insects might find comfort under plenty of piled leaves and firewood stacks. Although ladybugs and stinkbugs are notorious during the fall season, other creatures to watch out for includes:

  1. Rodents such as rats and mice
  2. Fleas
  3. Spiders

Winter Pest

Insect activities generally decrease during winter since most of them are into hibernation due to the cold weather. But do not forget that some pests look for warmer places rather than go into hibernation. So, you’re not entirely free from pests during this season. Perhaps, winter also creates a perfect condition for animals that love damp areas due to its increased moisture (snowfall and thaw). Nevertheless, you should fortify your home against these pests:

  1. Rodents
  2. Cockroaches
  3. Stinkbugs
  4. Ladybugs
  5. Silverfish

How you can fortify your home against insect invasion

Your best line of defense against these invaders is to stop them from entering your home. You can prevent them by cutting trimming and cutting grasses, eliminating standing waters, and sealing any holes or cracks that can serve as an entry point for them.
