Happy Cyber Monday! I trust you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with your family and friends. =)
The holiday season is a busy time of year for many people. There are parties to attend, gifts to buy and wrap, and family and friends to visit. This can be a lot of fun, but it can also be stressful. Here are some tips to help you enjoy the holiday season with your family without getting overwhelmed:
Make a list of what you need to do and when you need to do it
This will help you stay organized and on track. I found that making a list cuts down on a lot of the stress. Planners are my favorite! Printable and digital!
Don’t try to do everything yourself
Delegate tasks to family members or friends so that everyone can pitch in. I think moms can sometimes have the hardest time delegating especially when the kids get older. I have definitely had to learn how to do this and ask for help! This is how kids and teens learn as well.

Take some time for yourself
Schedule in some relaxation time so that you don’t get too stressed out. Sometimes this is easier said than done, especially for moms. We forget to take care of ourselves. My husband has to remind me to do this. Even if it’s just a half hour of having some sort of me time whether it’s a coffee or tea break, reading a book, etc., you’ll find that this makes a big difference.
Don’t overcommit yourself
Say no to some invitations so that you don’t feel like you’re constantly on the go. Oh boy, this one is a doozy. I have had to learn to say no. I used to say yes to everything and then would get burned out. I think some of us just want to please everyone all the time, but the fact is, we can’t do that. We are only human and can only do what we can do.
In conclusion, following these tips for a stress-free holiday season will help you to enjoy the holiday season more. They include getting organized, delegating tasks, avoiding overcommitment, and taking time for yourself. By following these tips, you can reduce your stress and enjoy the holidays with your family.
