People love convenience. In fact, many people cite convenience as a reason for choosing one business over another. They’ll pick a grocery store because it’s more convenient, even if it’s more expensive. The same is true when it comes to buying fuel. They might even opt for a house that offers more convenience for work and school rather than one they actually like better because it’s not so convenient.

Of course, the convenient option also has to be a good option, but all in all, convenience will generally win out if there is a choice to be made.

You can see why it’s important to make your business as convenient as possible for your customers so that they’ll pick you over and above your competitors. With that in mind, here are some things you can include that will help you achieve this goal.

Create An eCommerce Store

If your business is not primarily an eCommerce store, you might not have considered creating a shop on your website. Perhaps you have a physical store, and you do all of your sales to people who physically come through your door.

But what if you did create an eCommerce store? You would suddenly become a lot more convenient to many more people. If you have a brick-and-mortar store, this is a relatively easy transition – or addition – to make. You simply need to create product pages and a store on your website, and of course, you’ll need to consider a hosted pay page for security reasons. As long as you have a reliable delivery service, you can start sending out products when they’re ordered.

If you have a different kind of business, you’ll need to work out what you can sell online. If you run a gym, you might offer Zoom classes, for example, or perhaps gym clothes. If you have a cafe or restaurant, could you start selling takeout? With an eCommerce store, you can be incredibly convenient and increase your market, so it’s certainly worth thinking about.

Don’t Make People Wait

When it comes to convenience, a lot of people will equate this with speed. The faster they can get whatever it is you want, the more convenient you will be to them and the happier they will feel about using your services.

This is why it’s important to do what you can about waiting times. Ideally, people shouldn’t have to wait at all, and there are some methods you can introduce that will help you with this. Apart from actively monitoring your communications and responding as soon as you can, you can also use chatbots, automated responses, and AI to ensure that waiting times are as low as possible.

Make Prices Transparent

It’s hugely inconvenient to go to a website, pick what you want to buy, get through the checkout process, and then discover there are extra charges or that the price wasn’t what you thought it was.

Make sure all your pricing is accurate on your (or in your store) and ensure that any extras, such as delivery, taxes, service charges, and so on, are clearly listed. In this way, people can make their own choice about buying from you, and by the time they get to the checkout, they’ll be ready to pay, which is better for them and more profitable for you.
