Traveling to Pittsburgh with the Family? Visit Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium!

If you are planning a family road trip and are heading to Pittsburgh or beyond, schedule a stop at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium!

Last month, my daughter attended BTS (Beyond the Stars) dance competition finals in Monroeville, PA, (minutes from Pittsburgh) with her dance team, Central City Dance!  During the busy schedule, we did have a nice free day, so we took advantage of the time and visited Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium. It was quite an adventure for both of us as we have never been to Pittsburgh.  The drive to the zoo was hilly, curvy, and fun! The roads are quite different in PA than they are here in Michigan. It definitely took some getting used to.

The entrance to the zoo is inviting. Since PA is hilly and everything seems to be on steep inclines, the escalator takes you up a steep incline up into the zoo. And then of course, going back down. The kiddies will get a big kick out of it!

But of course, the zoo was your classic family fun time with the cutest animals ever. Check some of them out:

Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium is located 7370 Baker Street. The zoo opens at 9:30 am and closes at 5:30 pm. Gates close at 4:30 pm.

It definitely was a neat zoo experience being out of town. A definite must-see if you are traveling through the area!
