Council Re|Sale in Berkley to Hold Holiday Sales Throughout December, Including a Shopping Day for Kids on Dec. 16!

 Council Re|Sale (3297 W. 12 Mile Road, Berkley), one of the oldest and most beloved thrift shops in metro Detroit, is getting jolly this season with holiday sales throughout December. The store is known for featuring high-end clothing including designer wear, professional attire, shoes, evening wear and home décor, all generously donated by the local community, and was awarded 2023 Best Resale Shop by Metro Times magazine. Proceeds benefit the programs and services of the nonprofit, National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan (NCJW|MI). For images of merchandise and the store front click here.

Special sales this month include:

Dec. 7-9 – 50 percent off storewide (excludes furs and $1 or less items) PLUS buy a $50 gift certificate and receive an additional $10 gift certificate

Dec. 16 – 50 percent off storewide (excludes furs and $1 or less items) PLUS it is also Kids Shopping Day (children under 18 receive an additional 20 percent off their purchase

December 21-23 – First days of winter sale, 55 percent off storewide (excludes furs and $1 or less items)

“Our store is full of treasures this holiday season, and for anyone who needs to stretch their budget a bit further, we have everything to make sure you can look stylish, you can decorate your home with beautiful home décor items, and if you want to shop for gifts for loved ones, we have many unique items,” said President of National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan, Sallyjo Levine. “We are particularly excited to offer a special day for children so that they can buy relatives and friends affordable gifts.”

Council Re|Sale proceeds support the many projects of NCJW|MI, benefiting Detroit area women, children, and families in need. These include the annual Back 2 School Store, Backpack Project for homeless children, blankets for children in hospitals and foster care, Kosher meals on wheels, literacy outreach, and social justice initiatives such as voter advocacy programs.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday;
