To Attend Michigan’s Largest Pop Culture Event

MOTOR CITY COMIC CON

Motor City Comic Con (MC3), Michigan’s largest and longest running comic book and pop culture convention since 1989, announces that Avatar: The Last Airbender voice actors Grey DeLisle-Griffin and Greg Baldwin and Back To The Future star Tom Wilson will be joined by illustrator Mitch Gerads during this Spring’s convention taking place May 17-19, 2024, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.  Tickets to attend Motor City Comic Con are on-sale now at www.MotorCityComicCon.com.  

On Saturday, May 18

author and comic book writer Tom King and illustrator Mitch Gerads will also be hosting a special 45-minute Tom King and Mitch Gerads Panel Event at 5:30pm where they will share insights and stories. Attendees can also get up to four signatures (total) on items they bring. Additionally, all guests will receive an exclusive 11×17 art print. The two have worked together at DC Comics on Mister MiracleBatman, and The Sheriff of Babylon. Tickets for the event are $50 each.

Another unique experience taking place at Motor City Comic Con is

EXTRA LIVES: The Live Experience, which is the world’s first audience RPG: a fully narrated, inclusive choose-your-own-adventure game where you are the main character. Taking place on Saturday, May 18 at 7:30pm,  players will work together as they plunge into an exciting story with visuals, music, sound effects, and footage drawn from the legendary console games of the 80’s, 90’s and 2000s with a live score provided by the lovable nerds of Extra Lives. At key junctures you’ll get to vote on how the character proceeds, leading to special story branches. With multiple endings and 60+ possible variations depending on the audience’s in-game choices, this immersive feast for the imagination will transport you back to your childhood and to the next level! Tickets for this experience are $20 each.

The Motor City Comic Con will be hosting a special

 Podcast Live Recording event of Blah Blah Blah with Katee Sackhoff. Katee who was just recently announced to attend the convention is best known for her roles in Battlestar Galactica, The Mandalorian and voicing characters in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Star Wars Rebels.  She will be joined by a mystery guest as she hosts her live podcast show at the Suburban Collection Showplace. The event will be taking place Saturday, May 18th at 8:00pm. Standard tickets are $30. Premium tickets are $50 and include seating in rows 4-6 and an exclusive (unsigned) poster. VIP tickets are $60 and include seating in rows 1-3 and an exclusive (unsigned) poster. Tickets for this event are not included in the general admission costs and must be purchased online at www.MotorCityComicCon.com under the buy tickets tab.

Registration is now open for Motor City Comic Con guests

looking to participate in the annual Adult Cosplay Contest which will be taking place on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 6:00pm. This contest is for interested adults. Those wishing to participate must register in advance as limited spaces are available. Prizes include MC3 Fall Passes, Autographed Photos, Cash Prizes, and other exclusive MC3 goodies! In addition, a Children’s Cosplay Contest will be taking place on Sunday, May 19. There is no advance registration or entrant fee required for the children’s cosplay contest.

The Motor City Comic Con welcomes select members of the media to cover the event. Interested media outlets must submit a Press Application by April 7, 2024 to qualify for consideration.  

Calling Motor City’s top pop-culture experts. MC3 is looking for people interested in presenting a panel discussion focusing on interesting creative topics. Applications are now open for consideration.

Motor City Comic Con, one of the largest conventions in the Midwest,

takes place yearly in both the Spring and the Fall at the Suburban Collection Showplace. It will feature some of the largest actors from television, movies, and streaming platforms, along with the most creative artists, writers, and comic book creators in the industry. Throughout the three-day weekend celebrity and comic guests participate in autographs and photo opportunities with attendees, for additional fees.

Some celebrity will have presales for autographs and photo ops, along with tickets to the overall convention available on the website and some guests will have those opportunities available on site at the convention. Attendees can also participate in various panel discussions, attractions, events, and explore various exhibitors. Artists, writers, and illustrators will also be featured throughout Artist Alley over the three-day convention.

In addition, there will be crafters

that will have extraordinary gifts, crafts, and replicas available, and some of the largest comic book and multimedia dealers from across the country that offer a variety of merchandise including comics, toys, art, unique jewelry, clothing, memorabilia and much more! Fans can also expect all the traditional favorites such as Cosplay Contests and kid-friendly activities, along with many more events and activities to be announced soon.

Her most iconic roles include Vicky from The Fairy Odd Parents, Sam Manson from Danny Phantom, Arcee in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Princess Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Motor City Comic Con has an additional convenience feature for guests who want to bypass the event entry ticket lines and get into the convention faster, by having their MC3 wristband shipped or picked up in advance. For a $15 shipping fee, wristbands can be delivered in the weeks leading up to the convention, anywhere within the continental U.S. The deadline for the shipping option is Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 11:59pm EST.  MC3 wristbands are also available for early pick up, free of charge.
