Career Expo Featuring Seven Local Nonprofit Agencies to be Held April 3. Free Event to be held at The J Detroit in West Bloomfield from 10 a.m. to noon; part-time, full-time and seasonal employment available alongside free job search resources.
Gesher Human Services, The J Detroit, and Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit will again co-sponsor the Metro Detroit Nonprofit Career Expo, which will take place on Wednesday, April 3 from 10 a.m. to noon at The J Detroit (6600 W. Maple Road, West Bloomfield Township, MI 48322). The Metro Detroit Nonprofit Career Expo will feature seven local nonprofit agencies offering approximately 50 jobs, including part-time, full-time and seasonal positions.
Gesher Human Services will also provide free onsite resume assistance
and support from certified professional resume writers, headshot-style photographs for attendees to use in their LinkedIn profiles, and information on a variety of career assistance. Representatives from Oakland80, an initiative that aims to create more economic stability and career opportunities for Oakland County residents through networks of connections and resources, will also be onsite. “The Metro Detroit Nonprofit Career Expo is a great place to meet a variety of employers and explore an array of job opportunities all in one place,” said Director of Business and Career Services at Gesher Human Services Jason Charnas. “Not only does it give job seekers the opportunity to get themselves in front of employers and learn about positions they might not have otherwise considered, but they are also able to take advantage of the free resources offered at the event which can potentially help them overcome barriers in their job search.”
Job positions available at the Metro Detroit Career Expo
include direct support professionals, accounts receivable, group home managers, home health aides, nurse case management, accounting support coordinators, receptionists, and food services professionals including cooks and dining service. College students or teachers seeking seasonal summer jobs are also welcome.
