SUN JUNE 2 & WED JUNE 5

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD (2010)

High-energy, off-the-wall comedy directed by Edgar Wright, based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novels. Slacker musician Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is falling for enigmatic Amazon delivery girl Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) but there’s a problem: to win her love he must first defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends. Mayhem ensues. Amazing young cast includes Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Brandon Routh and Aubrey Plaza (“Ramona’s out of your league.”) Rated PG-13

SUN JUNE 9 & WED JUNE 12

FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF (1986)

High school senior Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) raises playing hooky to an art form in this 80’s comedy from writer/director John Hughes. Whether it’s singing from a parade float (“Well, shake it up baby, now…”) or crashing a fancy restaurant as Abe Frohman (“the Sausage King of Chicago”) Ferris knows how to show his friends a good time. (“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”) Rated PG-13

SAT JUNE 15, SUN JUNE 16 (FATHER’S DAY) & WED JUNE 19

RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK (1981)

Celebrate Father’s Day with this classic adventure, directed by Steven Spielberg, based on an idea from George Lucas. Archeologist and action hero Indiana Jones (“Trust me”) is in a race to find the mysterious lost Ark of the Covenant. The Ark is said to contain enormous power, and “Indy” (Harrison Ford) and Marion (Karen Allen) must find it before the Nazis do. (“Snakes. Why’d it have to be snakes?”) Rated PG

SAT JUNE 22, SUN JUNE 23 & WED JUNE 26

HARRY POTTER & THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE (2009)

The past holds the key to a dark mystery and Harry must access a memory that will unlock the truth. Lord Voldemort chooses Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) for a secret mission, and romance complicates the lives of the teenage wizards (“She’s only interested in you because she thinks you’re the Chosen One!”). Ron contends with multiple admirers. (“These girls…they’re going to kill me, Harry!”) Rated PG

SAT JUNE 29, SUN JUNE 30 & WED JULY 3

JAWS (1975)

Steven Spielberg’s summer blockbuster, based on Peter Benchley’s best-selling novel. A killer shark is terrorizing vacationers at Amity Island and a trio of shark-hunters take to the high seas in pursuit.
