Michigan Auto Law Publishes List of the 20 Most Dangerous Intersections in Michigan

2023 report officially released and coincides with Public Safety Campaign to bring awareness to some of the state’s most dangerous intersections.

Michigan Auto Law, the leading and largest law firm in Michigan

that specializes exclusively in handling auto accident cases, is a strong advocate for making Michigan roads a safer place and providing vital safety guidance to drivers throughout the state. Each year their team of attorneys collects and analyzes Michigan State Police official data for the number of car accidents that occurred at intersections throughout the state during the previous year. The 2023 data has been released, and Michigan Auto Law has officially identified the Top 20 Most Dangerous Intersections in Michigan.

Michigan Auto Law’s goal is to give drivers the information they need to make safe decisions for themselves and their families, whether that means taking an alternative route or being extra cautious while traveling through one of the intersections on the list of Michigan’s Most Dangerous Intersections. To help spread its safety message, Michigan Auto Law has also recently launched a public safety campaign with strategically placed billboards around several of the key intersections that have traditionally been on the list each year.

The Michigan State Police’s Traffic Reporting Unit’s underlying data analysis

is compiled using motor vehicle accident reports filed by local law enforcement and police departments throughout Michigan. This is the most current data available for total crashes at intersections in Michigan in 2023.

An “intersection” is defined as any road with a traffic signal, four-way stop or roundabout. The crash data encompasses and includes any traffic accident reported, including, and resulting in injuries and/or fatalities, that occurred within 200 feet of an intersection including near freeways (and their subsequent on-ramps off-ramps and service streets), divided highways, and rural roads.
