Become a Voter Influencer this Fall with Four Free ‘Get-out-the-Vote’ Initiatives Offered by National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan.

Four important get-out-the-vote events are being offered to Michigan voters this fall by National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan (NCJW|MI).  The nonpartisan nonprofit organization is encouraging the community to ensure their voices are heard in a variety of ways in the run-up to the election in November. This includes understanding the importance that voting has on the judiciary system, a letter-writing party to encourage new and inconsistent voters, and programs providing greater understanding of an individual’s voting rights.

“Our educational programs work to increase voter participation, particularly among young people, and to highlight for the community the voting process, their rights and how the decisions they make can affect the justice system,” explained NCJW|MI State Policy Advocate and co-chair of the Advocacy and Elections Committee Linda Levy. “Now this fall we are also offering a platform for individuals to become ‘voter influencers’, reaching members of the community who may not always exercise their right to vote with an important letter-writing campaign.”

All four fall voting events require registration,

with Zoom information and the address of the letter-writing party provided upon registration.

• SEPTEMBER 12: Webinar with Legal Director from the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan, Dan Korobkin, who will present information about how the Supreme Court has made a series of recent rulings that move the nation closer to White Christian Nationalism.  7 p.m. on Zoom.
• SEPTEMBER 13:  Letter-writing party to encourage new and inconsistent voters to vote in November.  All materials provided.  The in-person event hosted by NCJW | MI State Policy Advocate Linda Levy will be held from 1-4 p.m.
• SEPTEMBER 18:  Promote the Vote webinar.  Promote the Vote has worked to improve the security and accessibility of Michigan’s elections.  The organization’s Election Protection Counsel Mackenzie Walz will present what Michiganders need to know to vote in the 2024 General Election and ways that the community can get involved. The event will be held at 7 PM via Zoom.
• OCTOBER 9: “Know Your Voting Rights: What Questions Do You Have?” Learn about Michigan’s new voting laws, have your questions answered, and become confident in conversations about voting in our state. Presented by NCJW | MI State Policy Advocate and co-chair of the Advocacy and Elections Committee Lynn Lieberman, at 7 p.m. on Zoom.
