Planning the perfect proposal takes time, and it’s imperative that you take the time to get it right. If you don’t, you could end up with the proposal going off the rails, not being what you wanted it to be, and this has the potential to be pretty bad. It’s important for you to take the time over the course of your relationship to find out what your partner would like to happen at the proposal. Is there somewhere special they would like to be? Is it important to them that they have their hair and nails done so that they can take photos after? It’s things like this that might not make much difference to you but could certainly make all of the difference in the world to them. Ensure that you’re gathering as much information as you can so that it’s special for them.
Deciding Where to Propose
You’re also going to have to think about where you want to propose. Some people like to propose at home, setting things up so that they are romantic, giving you privacy but also ensuring that it’s special for them. Other people like to propose when they are on holiday so that they are somewhere special, it all depends on you and the person that you are proposing to.
If you think about it, is your partner someone who likes to be the center of attention, or would they much prefer it without people staring at them? This is probably the most important consideration you’re going to have to make, because it could ruin the moment for them if you’re not careful.
Choosing The Perfect Ring
Finally, think about how you are going to propose and which ring you are going to use. People have been getting creative lately with their ‘rings’, if they don’t have one then they are drawing them on with permanent marker or even using the good old fashioned sweet rings. However, if you want your proposal to be true and meaningful then you should ideally have a ring already on you. Head to the local jewelers or take a look online, you might already have an idea of the type of ring you want to get. Consider rare carat rings as these will be much nicer and can be worked around your budget.

If you feel forced into it then it won’t be the right time, and you should think about it some more. There is no time limit on proposing, it is whenever the time feels right.
