A new analysis, conducted by QR Code Generator, imagines what careers your favorite Harry Potter characters would have in a non-magical world. The average salaries for each career were sourced and ranked to determine which characters would earn the most.

Draco Malfoy: Hedge Fund Manager ($161,700)

Draco’s love of scheming and manipulation helps him fit right in on Wall Street. His ambition is rewarded, and his morals are optional.

Draco’s workplace motto: “Built on privilege. Sustained by loopholes.”

Hermione Granger: Human Rights Lawyer ($151,160)

Hermione uses her intelligence, drive, and strong moral compass to fight for those who need it the most. When she is not holding governments accountable, she enjoys organizing her case notes by moral weight and urgency.

Hermione’s workplace motto: “Rights protected. Argument perfected. Opponents corrected.”

Voldemort: CEO ($105,350)

Voldemort used his lack of accountability and empathy to become a corporate overlord. Voldemort demands that his employees get the company logo tattooed, and his employees soon found out that the company lacked an HR department.

Voldemort’s workplace motto: “Fear drives results.”

Nymphadora Tonks: Special Effects Artist ($99,800)

Nymphadora quickly became Hollywood’s elite special effects artist with her makeup talent and creativity. She can turn anyone into anything; rumor has it she once disguised herself as a prop to avoid small talk.

Nymphadora’s workplace motto: “Unrecognizable? Good, that’s the point.”

Ron Weasley: Broadcast Announcer for Spectator Sports ($96,650)

Ron is beloved for his endless enthusiasm and his chaotic play-by-plays. Critics call his commentary unpolished, but fans call him real.

Ron’s workplace motto: “Passionate and unapologetically entertaining.”

Remus Lupin: Psychologist ($94,310)

Remus uses his soothing voice and patience to help those with trauma and identity issues. Sessions are offered Monday through Friday; sessions booked on a full moon will be cancelled.

Remus’s workplace motto: “Healing is sweeter with chocolate.”

Severus Snape: Chemical Engineer ($86,620)

Severus thrives in the chemistry lab; his formulas are flawless, his beakers are spotless, and his glare is more corrosive than fluoroantimonic acid. His colleagues know better than to ask him for help unless they want a sarcastic lecture with a side of scathing wit.

Severus’s workplace motto: “Formulas matter, feelings don’t.”

Fleur Delacour: Fashion Designer ($80,690)

The fashion world became enchanted with Fleur’s striking designs and shimmering fabrics. Perfection is expected, leading all of her interns to be inspired and slightly in love with her.

Fleur’s workplace motto: “We don’t do basic. Or beige.”

Harry Potter: Detective ($77,270)

Harry’s heroism, instincts, and pure ‘main character energy’ earned him the highest case-closure rate the department had ever seen. Harry’s one true nemesis on the job isn’t the suspect, but the HR department telling him that his vision plan will not cover another pair of broken glasses.

Harry’s workplace motto: “Not perfect, just persistent.”

Neville Longbottom: Horticultural Scientist ($77,080)

Neville is the kind of scientist who talks to his plants, and he swears that they listen. After his greenhouse outperformed the entire department, he was invited to do a TED talk that he titled “How plants are like people, but kinder.”

Neville’s workplace motto: “Patience, sunlight, and a little bit of courage.”

Rubeus Hagrid: Zoologist ($72,860)

Rubeus has a soft spot for the hard-to-love animals that live in the zoo. He has a nickname for every animal and his paperwork is chaotic at best, but he connects to the most misunderstood creatures better than anyone else.

Rubeus’s workplace motto: “Not dangerous if you respect ’em. Usually.”

Luna Lovegood: Children’s Book Author ($72,270)

Luna’s whimsical children’s books are filled with stories of invisible friends, misunderstood monsters, and brave characters who save the day using kindness and curiosity. Luna believes the world would be a better place if adults read more picture books and harmonized with their inner child.

Luna’s workplace motto: “Imagination is a perfectly reasonable research method.”

Fred and George Weasley: Film and Video Editors ($70,570 each)

Fred and George got their start by going viral for their TikTok pranks, and they soon turned their flair for dramatics and theatrics into a creatively chaotic career. Working for a company has not tamed them; their editing software is still packed with Easter eggs, running jokes, and exactly one button labeled ‘Do Not Press.’

Fred and George’s workplace motto: “Creative mischief, professional results.”

Ginny Weasley: Professional Athlete ($62,360)

Ginny is fierce and fast on the soccer field, leaving defenders dizzy and commentators scrambling for superlatives. She quickly amassed a loyal and passionate fan base with her blunt and hilarious post-match interviews.

Ginny’s workplace motto: “90 minutes of speed, grit, and pure talent.”

Sirius Black: Small Engine Mechanic ($48,240)

Sirius is not your average motorcycle mechanic; clients say he can bring a dead motorcycle back to life with nothing but a wrench and a scowl. His shop’s walls are covered in sarcastic signs, engine diagrams, and movie quotes from The Godfather.

Sirius’s workplace motto: “Rules are for fools and dealership lackeys.”

Marc Porcar, CEO of QR Code Generator, commented: “This creative analysis offers a glimpse into how famous Harry Potter characters would fit into the real-world job market.

“It is no surprise that Draco’s knack for strategy lands him a high-powered hedge fund role, while Hermione’s dedication to justice fits in with a law career. Even the darkest characters, like Voldemort, find fitting roles that reflect their leadership styles. Ultimately, this fun analysis reminds us how skills and traits valued in the wizarding world can shine brightly in everyday careers.”
