THINGS ARE HEATING UP WITH FREE EVENTS AT THE VILLAGE OF ROCHESTER HILLS THIS JULY

Featuring Weekly Music & Me Classes, Bug Encounters, and High-Energy Musical Performances!

WHAT                     

The Village of Rochester Hills, metropolitan Detroit’s premier outdoor lifestyle shopping and dining destination, invites the community to enjoy a vibrant lineup of free summer events all season long. Each week, guests can experience a variety of educational and musical activities perfect for families, friends, and visitors of all ages. Stroll around the Village of Rochester Hills’ picturesque open-air center, take in the sunshine and fresh air, and create lasting memories!

Highlights this July include Music & Me classes with Miss Calissa every Monday and Wednesday which feature fun, interactive classes for young children that encourage movement, language, and bonding through music. On July 10 and 24, Bugs on Wheels returns with Ms. Nadia “The Bug Lady” for hands-on, educational sessions featuring live insects and fascinating facts for curious minds of all ages. Each week guests will enjoy free outdoor musical entertainment. On Saturday, July 19, the Village of Rochester Hills welcomes back Mobile Dueling Pianos during a high-energy, all-request entertaining rock n’ roll show that will be sure to get the crowd singing, dancing, and laughing.

The Village of Rochester Hills, conveniently located at the corner of Adams and Walton Road, in Rochester Hills, has over 50 unique and sought-after retailers as well as an enhanced and unique culinary selection of restaurants. In addition to providing the latest fashion trends at stores like Von Maur, Evereve, Dry Goods, and lululemon, the Village of Rochester Hills is a perfect place to enrich your culinary palette options at restaurants like Sweetgreen, The Jackson, Bravo! This week, you can experience the sounds of summer with UC3 Trio.

Lawn games will be set up around Festival Park for you to enjoy while the music plays. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets as you enjoy some free outdoor entertainment.

 

Saturday, July 19

            6:00pm-8:00pm: Mobile Dueling Pianos

                Location: Festival Park

Mobile Dueling Pianos will be energizing the crowds with a free high-energy, interactive rock n roll, comedy show that will be something all ages will enjoy. Anyone in the crowd can request any song, and the piano players will play it!! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and get ready to sing, dance, and clap along!

Bugs with Bugs on Wheels

Morning Time: 10:00am-11:00am

Evening Time: 6:00pm-7:00pm

                Location: Festival Park

Bugs on Wheels will be bringing out their crawly friends for all ages to visit.  Ms. Nadia, “The Bug Lady” will be hosting two informal educational sessions, one at 10:00am and the other at 6:00pm. This experience gives both children and adults the opportunity to better understand and appreciate how amazing, important, and not-so-scary bugs really are. Attendees will be educated and entertained as they see, touch, and hold some amazing little creatures. Take a look at taxidermy and see what scientists who study these creatures do in order to save and study them.

Friday, July 25

Live Music from Sheila Landis & Rick Matle

Time: 5:00pm-8:00pm

Location: Festival Park

Enjoy Pop Hits from the 60s and 70’s as Sheila Landis and Rick Matle perform. Lawn games will be set up around Festival Park for you to enjoy while the music plays. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets as you enjoy some free outdoor entertainment.

Saturday, July 26 & Sunday, July 27

Village Fine Art Fair

Saturday, July 26 – 10:00am-8:00pm

Sunday, July 27 – 12:00pm-5:00pm

The Fine Art Fair is back at The Village of Rochester Hills celebrating their 20th year. This two-day event will host approximately 70 artists from across the United States, with over half coming from Michigan. Artwork in all faucets will be featured including ceramics, glass, paintings, drawings, multi-media, sculpture, photography, fiber art, wood, jewelry and more. This free event will feature artist booths, food vendors, and family-fun entertainment all weekend long.

Theme: “PAJAMA WEEK”
