Pain to Purpose Raises Over $30,000 for The V Foundation – 100% Going to Cancer Research Dave Coulier Headlines Intimate Oakland Township Wellness Fundraiser Honoring Resilience, Healing, and Hope!
Oakland Township, Michigan – On Sunday, August 10, 2025, Pain to Purpose brought together survivors, caregivers, wellness experts, and advocates for a morning of mission-driven connection — all in support of The V Foundation’s life-saving cancer research.
Co-hosted by Live Well Lead Well and B.T.R. Nation,
the event unfolded at the serene Adams Manor, where rolling lawns, blooming gardens, and summer sunshine created the perfect backdrop for reflection and connection. Guests were greeted with custom-crafted mocktails from Earthy Botanical Mobile Bar, ambient tunes from DJ Chachi, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a morning both deeply meaningful and undeniably beautiful.
With just 40 guests in attendance, the intimate setting encouraged heartfelt conversations and moments of quiet reflection. The morning featured nourishing breakfast bites and storytelling by headliner Dave Coulier and co-host Ashley Nickelsen (founder of B.T.R. Nation), as well as groundbreaking research insights from Dr. Norah L. Henry, a V Foundation grantee from The University of Michigan.
“This is more than a fundraiser — it’s a tribute to resilience,” said Melissa Coulier, co-founder of Live Well Lead Well and event organizer. “Everyone here has been touched by cancer in some way. We gathered to share stories, tools, and hope — and to fund critical research that can save lives.”
Dave Coulier opened up about his personal journey, and provided deep connections and insights, and of course provided some laughter as well. “Early detection is crucial, and I encourage everyone to get tested. So, get those breast and prostate exams, and a colonoscopy. When I first heard I had cancer, I had a lightbulb moment. I wanted to know what is toxic in our lives. I discovered that toxins are all around us, and in so many products – food, personal hygiene products, home goods, clothing. But changing my entire lifestyle would be a long and arduous process. So, I started with one thing — I replaced my toothpaste. And I am proud to say that the underwear I am now wearing is organic. My wife, Melissa’s support and guidance really helped me through this process. So listen to your body, and talk to your doctors,” said Dave Coulier.
Thanks to the generosity of attendees, sponsors, and vendors, Pain to Purpose raised over $30,000 — with 100% of proceeds going directly to The V Foundation for cancer research.
