University of Michigan Maize & Blue Cupboard Expands Food Resource Access for Students in Need
ANN ARBOR, MI – The University of Michigan’s Maize & Blue Cupboard is proud to announce its fall hours, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that every member of the university community has equitable access to healthy and nutritious food. With rising living costs affecting students nationwide, the Cupboard is dedicated to providing essential resources for those facing food insecurity, allowing them to focus on their education without the burden of hunger.
Beginning this fall,
the Maize & Blue Cupboard will operate under revised hours, offering services by appointment only. Students can now access food resources on Sundays from 2-6 PM, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3-7 PM, Tuesdays from 10 AM-12 PM and 3-7 PM, and Fridays from 12-7 PM. To utilize these vital services, students must present their University of Michigan MCard. Additionally, emergency assistance will be available outside normal hours, and staff are ready to help with SNAP application assistance.
Located at 420 S State St., Ann Arbor, MI, the Maize & Blue Cupboard is a beacon of support for those who may be facing economic hardship or physical limitations that prevent them from accessing traditional grocery options. By providing a welcoming space and nutritious food, the Cupboard empowers students to prepare meals for themselves and their families, fostering a sense of community and well-being.
