New research has revealed Michigan’s most photographed tourist attractions on Instagram, with Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore topping the list.
The study, conducted by AI image generator NightCafe, analyzed the Instagram hashtag data of each state’s 15 best-rated tourist attractions on Tripadvisor to identify the most Instagrammable.

According to the findings, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore has been crowned the most Instagrammable tourist attraction in Michigan, with 149,076 posts. Located along Lake Michigan’s stunning northwest shoreline, the park is famous for its golden dunes, scenic overlooks, and tranquil beaches that make it a photographer’s paradise.
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore had the second-highest number of hashtagged Instagram posts, at 120,222. Situated on Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula, the area’s colorful sandstone cliffs, waterfalls, and forest trails provide an idyllic setting for outdoor and travel photography.
In third is Comerica Park, with 118,772 hashtagged Instagram posts. Home to the Detroit Tigers, this downtown Detroit landmark blends city skyline views, fan excitement, and distinctive architecture — making it one of the most photogenic stadiums in Major League Baseball.
Greenfield Village ranks fourth, with 49,803 hashtagged Instagram posts. Part of The Henry Ford complex in Dearborn, it offers a journey through American innovation and history, featuring historic homes, vintage vehicles, and costumed reenactments.
Rounding out the top five is the Detroit Institute of Arts, with 41,760 hashtagged Instagram posts. Renowned for its Diego Rivera murals and world-class art collections, the museum’s grand façade and striking interior make it a visual favorite among visitors.
