(Kalamazoo, MI, Oct. 2025) – Before he steals the spotlight in Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical as part of Miller Auditorium’s Zhang Broadway in West Michigan Series on Nov. 7–8, the Grinch himself will be spreading some mischievous holiday cheer across Kalamazoo!
To kick off his stay in Kalamazoo, the Grinch will make a special appearance at Bookbug on Tuesday, Nov. 4, for a free, family-friendly event. Families are invited to stop by, meet the Grinch, enjoy festive holiday crafts, and get a headstart on their holiday shopping.
As part of this partnership, Bookbug will also have copies of How The Grinch Stole Christmas available that patrons may purchase at a discount to donate to Bronson Children’s Hospital. The Grinch will personally deliver these books to young patients while visiting on Wednesday, Nov. 5, bringing Seussian spirit and smiles to children receiving care.
“We are proud to partner with Miller Auditorium…and are thrilled that families will have an opportunity to meet & greet The Grinch at Bookbug on November 4th,” said co-owner of Bookbug, Joanna Parzakonis. “It is our honor to also invite our community to purchase discounted copies of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas as part of this event and/or anytime before November 5th, which The Grinch will carry with him to Bronson Children’s Hospital on the day following his visit to Bookbug. Merry Christmas Season to all, and to all a good book!”
“It makes such a difference for our patients and families when the community shows their support, especially in such a fun way” says Liz Semaan, executive director, Bronson Health Foundation. “Having these donated books will brighten the day for many patients, especially when they are personally delivered by the Grinch himself!”
This collaboration celebrates community, reading, and the joy of giving – values at the heart of both the Dr. Seuss classic and the Kalamazoo community
