It’s difficult to find time for self-care in this day and age. Between picking up the kids from school and getting groceries done, it’s often easy as a mother to look past your own personal needs in favor of the needs of your family.

Everyone needs self-care, and there are a multitude of ways that mothers and parents can take advantage of simple ways of putting themselves first, without giving up too much precious time.

The 15 Minute Mobility Break

With just 15 minutes out of your day, consider taking a moment to work on your own mobility. Stretch, do some light Yoga work, and try your hand at some movements like the squat, lunge, or plank. Every mother can find 15 minutes to work this into their morning or evening routine.

Deep Breathing and Meditation Exercises

Consider trying out some deep breathing techniques, focusing on yourself every day. Quiet your mind and meditate carefully for a few minutes, focusing on the air coming in and out of your lungs.

Stay Hydrated Every Day

Many mothers don’t realize this, but you should start your day with a glass of water. Most people wake up dehydrated, and committing to drinking at least two liters a day can help you feel better and be the best mother you can be!

Enjoying a great meal with your family can turn into an enjoyable ritual, even if it’s a meal that is more on the indulgent side. It’s healthy to enjoy junk food on occasion, and it is an underrated element of self-care. Don’t restrict yourself from the things you love to eat, but instead look to enjoy them from time to time. 

Indulge in Your Feminine Side

It’s not uncommon to get lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Enjoy things that make you look and feel great, and don’t be afraid to indulge in some new clothing, makeup, or even a new fragrance. Say No More Often
