Michigan Shoppers Set their Sights on the Nintendo Switch 2 this Holiday Season

A new Google Trends analysis of Michigan search behavior shows that the Nintendo Switch 2 is the most sought-after console this holiday and Black Friday season.
Digital game store, Loaded, analyzed Google search trends across the state to identify where excitement for the new console is highest. The strongest search volume comes from Lansing, followed by Flint-Saginaw-Bay City and the Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo–Battle Creek area.
The most common search queries in the state were “Switch 2 Black Friday,” “Luigi’s Mansion Switch 2,” “Digimon Time Strangers Switch 2,” and “Pokémon Legends: Z-A.” These findings highlight strong local demand for both the console and its titles as shoppers prepare for holiday deals.
The Nintendo Switch 2,
was released in June 2025, marking a major upgrade from its predecessor with enhanced graphics, faster load times, and improved battery life.
Following its launch, the system sold over 3.5 million units worldwide in just four days, setting a new record as Nintendo’s fastest-selling console ever. Momentum continued in the following weeks, with more than 6 million units sold globally within seven weeks of launch.
These figures highlight the high demand for the Switch 2 and its bundled titles, making it one of the most sought-after gaming systems of 2025. Michigan shoppers looking to grab a console this Black Friday should act early, as local demand is strong and stock is expected to sell quickly.

“Shoppers planning Black Friday purchases should compare bundle versus base console pricing and check local stock levels early. The $499 Mario Kart World bundle is a common packaged option and may be the primary bundle retailers advertise.”
