Spiritual Books for All Children

Spiritual Books for All Children

Author Mary Miché offers us three books for children to encourage their spiritual development in a busy world. All three are 2025 Purple Dragonfly Award winners.

Kid’s Pray in Many Ways (in both English and Spanish) contains beautiful photos of children from many cultures praying in varied ways. Sharing this book with children gives us the opportunity to talk about connecting with the Divine through prayer. It helps children understand that many people, in many religions all over the world, pray.

Come Beloved Guide

Many people grow up with an image of a fearful and punishing God. Sometimes it takes many years to overcome this. Come Beloved Guide (in English and Spanish) is a book that seeks to correct this image so that children can connect with God as a loving and caring parent. Children can enjoy the beautiful images that bring spirituality into their lives. Adults can use this book to discuss their own spiritual views with children.

Heaven's Golden Book

We often tell children that someone who has died is in heaven, but we don’t have much to say about what heaven is like. In the current generation of young children, many of them grow up with no spiritual connection. Their parents are very busy and often don’t do anything spiritual with them. When someone dies, children wonder, “Where does that person go?” Heaven’s Golden Book (also in English and Spanish) encourages children to talk about their thoughts and feelings about Heaven, especially when a loved one has passed.
