The States That Order the Most Pizza on Super Bowl Sunday, Michigan #2!

Super Bowl Sunday is the second-biggest pizza day of the year.  To find out which states are driving the pizza demand, The Action Network dove into Google search data from the past 10 Super Bowls.

The results? Delaware orders the most pizza, ranking #1 overall, but Super Bowl teams’ home states also see a surge.

Key Findings:

• Delaware orders the most pizza on Super Bowl Sunday, ranking #1 overall.

• Michigan (#2) and Pennsylvania (#3) follow closely behind.

• Philadelphia is the top pizza-demand city for 8 straight Super Bowls.

• States without an NFL team — North Dakota, Vermont, and Alaska — rank dead last.

• Hosting the Super Bowl doesn’t meaningfully increase pizza demand.

• When a home team plays, pizza demand jumps ~5.8% on average.

• The biggest spike? North Carolina (+25.6%) when the Panthers played in Super Bowl 50.

• One strange outlier: Missouri drops -6.7% when the Chiefs play. (Too much Super Bowl fatigue?)
