Metro Detroiters with Developmental Disabilities, Their Families, and Caregivers Can Explore Jarc Fun Village, an Interactive Event on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in West Bloomfield

Attendees will enjoy live music, dancing, inflatables, art experiences, games, snacks, sensory space, and play instruments with music educators from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. – Jarc, a metro Detroit based nonprofit agency that serves individuals with developmental disabilities, is hosting a Jarc Fun Village, a festive interactive community event on Sunday, June 28, from noon to 3 p.m. indoors at The J, 6600 West Maple Road in West Bloomfield. The celebration is part of the nonprofit’s Ellen LabesZ”L Festival Series, sponsored by the family of long-time Jarc supporter, Ellen Labes. Attendees will enjoy fun-filled activities during the afternoon event including a gym housing a bounce house, other inflatables and giant games; an art studio to create terrariums, suncatchers, sand-art, edible art, and more; a dance club featuring live music by The Crasherz Band; a Jarc-ade with a variety of games and opportunities to play musical instruments with the assistance of music educators from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra; and a diner with free snacks and kosher food for purchase.

“This event will be wall-to-wall fun as we transform The J into Jarc Fun Village,” said Jarc CEO Shaindle Braunstein. “We hope that individuals of all ages and abilities will enjoy making stops all over our village to experience each type of fun that we have to offer.”

The Jarc Fun Village,

will have a special sensory space where attendees with sensory sensitivities who may feel overstimulated can decompress, relax and recenter. Admission is free for individuals with developmental disabilities and one caregiver as well as for children under five years old. Individual tickets are $20 and $50 for a family of up to four. Parking is free. Onsite security will be provided.

Jarc has been providing life-enriching social and recreational opportunities that foster independence and a deep sense of belonging for adults with disabilities for 57 years. The nonprofit strives to provide the highest quality direct care tailored to each person’s needs based on their core values of empathy, respect, dignity, kindness, integrity and transparency.
