The Village of Rochester Hills Offers Free Events and Concerts This August

WHAT                     

The Village of Rochester Hills, metropolitan Detroit’s premier outdoor lifestyle shopping and dining destination, invites the community to celebrate the summer season with a vibrant lineup of free family-friendly events, live entertainment, and outdoor experiences in its picturesque open-air setting.

Throughout August, guests can enjoy an exciting calendar of activities, including live bands, interactive music events, and up-close bug encounters. It’s the perfect way for families to round out the summer together before the school year begins.

In addition to hosting a variety of events all summer long, the Village of Rochester Hills, conveniently located at the corner of Adams and Walton Road, in Rochester Hills is the ideal destination for back-to-school shopping. With more than 50 unique and sought-after retailers, families can find everything from the latest fashion trends and accessories to specialty gifts and everyday essentials while enjoying an enhanced culinary selection of restaurants. Whether shopping at stores like Von Maur, Evereve, Rowan, and lululemon or grabbing a meal at Pokeworks, Jagged Fork, Kruse and Muer, or P.F. Chang’s, guests can make a full day of their visit.

BUGS ON WHEELS 

Synopsis: Ms. Nadia “The Bug Lady” returns this summer for an informal hands-on, education session featuring live insects and fascinating facts about them. This experience gives both children and adults the opportunity to better understand and appreciate how amazing, important, and not-so-scary bugs really are. Visit on select Thursday and Sunday mornings and see, touch, and hold some amazing little creatures. Guests can also look at taxidermy and see what scientists who study these creatures do in order to save and study them.

SING. PLAY. SPEAK. MUSIC CLASS WITH MISS CALISSA
Synopsis:
 Classes will take place Wednesdays and will feature fun and interactive classes for young children that encourage movement, language, social skills, and activities that support speech all while bonding through music. Bring your little ones and a blanket (classes are geared towards children birth to five years) for free, fun, and interactive music classes on the lawn. After the last class of the season on August 19, guests are encouraged to stick around an enjoy special treats and giveaways.

Synopsis: 
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to Festival Park as you watch live concert performances Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the summer. During these free concerts, guests will be energized with a variety of musical acts including rock n’ roll, country, and contemporary that all ages will enjoy. Synopsis: Enoy a live performance by Rochester’s own Kevin Wills as he performs classic jazz songs and pays tribute to Frank Sinatra. This afternoon outdoor concert is the perfect way to relax and enjoy the start of summer.

PUPPY YOGA WITH LEADERDOGS FOR THE BLIND AND YOGA6

Synopsis: Yoga6 is partnering up with Leader Dogs for the Blind to bring you a FREE Puppy Yoga class. Guests will gather outdoors in Festival Park for a morning filled with movement, fresh air, and adorable puppies. Guests should plan to arrive early and bring their own yoga mats or towels. There will be a pet and play session after class so you can enjoy those cute puppies even longer.
