Salon Auburn Ash Celebrates Dolly Parton with September 25, 2026, Fundraiser-Rochester Hills, MI!

Salon will work 9 to 5 and donate a portion of proceeds to the Dollywood Foundation.

 ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Salon Auburn Ash, a boutique hair salon in Rochester Hills, will turn a lifelong love of Dolly Parton into a day of beauty and giving on Friday, September 25, 2026. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the salon will celebrate Dolly with special hours on this special date, paying homage to her hit song “9 to 5”.  On that day, Salon Auburn Ash will donate a portion of all proceeds from the day’s services to the Dollywood Foundation, a nonprofit founded by Dolly that helps children and families through education, literacy and community support.

For Salon Auburn Ash, Dolly Parton represents so much more than a legendary entertainer.

As a female-owned business, the celebration is especially personal for Salon Auburn Ash owner Amber Barg, who has admired Dolly Parton since childhood and has carried her unwavering work ethic, determination, entrepreneurial spirt, generosity and dedication to uplifting and empowering others throughout her life.

“I have loved Dolly since I was a little girl,” Amber Barg said. “I even dressed up as her in second grade, and that love has never gone away. Dolly represents talent, kindness, humor and generosity. This day lets us celebrate everything we love about her while giving back.”

That admiration is also part of Salon Auburn Ash’s identity. Throughout the salon, you will find Dolly photographs, books and favorite sayings.  Barg often jokes that Salon Auburn Ash is a modern-day Truvy’s, the lively beauty shop featured in Steel Magnolias, that starred Dolly Parton, and in the movie was a place where clients could get beautiful, laugh, connect and feel at home.

Amber Barg opened Salon Auburn Ash three years ago with the goal of creating that same warm, welcoming spirit.

Its tagline, “P.S. You’re Pretty!!” reflects the salon’s belief that every client should leave feeling seen, confident and cared for. On Facebook, the salon also embraces a favorite Dolly Parton quote as its motto: “Sometimes the best hair is the greatest revenge.”

“Dolly has always shown that glamour and a generous heart belong together,” Amber Barg said. “Working 9 to 5 on 9/25 is our fun way of honoring her and helping support the work of the Dollywood Foundation.”
