Are you currently looking for a family-friendly movie for your family to enjoy? I was recently given the opportunity to watch Season of a Lifetime. Whether you enjoy football or not, this movie is still inspiring and a powerful documentary.
Summary of Season of a Lifetime {As seen on back cover of DVD}
“The inspiring story of head football coach, Jerry Williams, who, terminally ill with ALS (also known as ou Gerhig’s disease) refuses to retire, deciding instead to coach for one last season. Rick Cohen’s cameras follow him as his resilient Greenville Patriots high school team battles a tough Region 4 schedule in their quest for the Georgia state championship. A father figure to his underprivileged players, Coach Williams is also a loving husband to his high-school sweetheart, and a loving father to two kids, one who is also stricken with a debilitating disease. Family and faith are the driving inspirations that enable Coach Williams to strive toward the impossible, making it truly a ‘Season of a Lifetime.’
Be prepared moms, this is a definite tear jerker…., but this mom cries at sentimental commercials! Ha!
I love it when movies are created and inspired by a true story. It makes the movie more real to those who are watching it.
Just like my other family movie reviews, I will not go into major details as I do not want to spoil it for you. I definitely give {Season of a Lifetime} two thumbs up.
