I received copies of all of these stated DVD’s in exchange for this post.  All opinions expressed here are honest and my own.

Are you looking for some great family movies (DVD’s) to watch this summer?  I was recently sent over 4 DVD’s that I thought I would share with you.  They are all great and are family-friendly.  They also depend on your child’s attention span as one of them is a documentary.

The first DVD is:

The Perfect Summer

Starring; Eric Roberts, Sydney Penny, Louis Mandylor, Adam Horner, Katie Garfield, with Jason Castro. You may remember Jason Castro was on American Idol a few seasons back….

This movie is appropriate for ages 13 and up.  It’s about a 17-year-old named Jake and his mom.  They move to live with his grandfather in a beautiful town near the coast.  Because of this Jake fears that his summer will be the worst ever.  No wi-fi isn’t a big help either.  A surfer girl catches Jake’s eye and learns to surf the waves.

I love that it encourages teens to steer more away from technology and the Internet and be creative to try new things.  It’s a definite family eye-opener.

The second DVD is:

Veil of Tears: Hope is on the Way Narrated by Natalie Grant

This is an educational documentary as narrated by Natalie Grant (Contemporary Christian Recording Artist) about millions of women in India who are persecuted simply for just being women.  You get to take a journey through the eyes of survivors.  The film was shot on-location in India.  This DVD is recommended for family with teens.  It is very inspiring and another eye-opener about the importance of life and respect.

The third DVD is:

When Calls the Heart: The Dance Inspired by Best-Selling Author Janette Oke

Starring; Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, and Lori Loughlin.  You may remember Lori Loughlin as Aunt Becky on Full House!

This is one of the many current series presented by Hallmark.  This installment is about miners that arrive in Coal Valley to reopen a mine.  If you are familiar with the characters of When the Heart Calls, Elizabeth and Jack are suspicious of a miner Billy Hamilton and his intentions for the mine and town.  It’s an inspiring continuing story of When Calls the Heart: Lost and Found.

The fourth DVD is:

When Calls the Heart: A Telling Silence Inspired by Best-Selling Author Janette Oke

Starring; Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin.

When Calls the Heart: A Telling Silence is a continuing story.  Elizabeth Thatcher has a strong interest in one of her students.  8 year old Rosaleen Sullivan.  This sweet child has been mute since she lost her father in a mine explosion.  Rosaleen ends up missing.  It’s an inspiring story great for the whole family.

I love When the Heart Calls series by Hallmark.  It is fantastic!
