Penguins of Madagascar movie review by Dee Ford

Super spy teams aren’t born…they’re hatched. Discover the secrets of the greatest and most hilarious covert birds in the global espionage biz: Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private. These elitists of the elite are joining forces with a chic undercover organization, The North Wind. Led by handsome and husky Agent Classified (we could tell you his name, but then…you know), voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch. Together, they must stop the villainous Dr. Octavius Brine, voiced by John Malkovich, from destroying the world as we know it.

Starring Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, Chris Knights, John Malkovich, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ken Jeong, Annett Mahendru, Peter Stormare.

Directed by Simon J. Smith and Eric Darnell.

(DREAMWORKS ANIMATION)

Rated PG.

My kids loved it! It was very funny and action packed throughout. However, there were several comedic references that only adults would understand. For example, they used the names of popular actors and intertwined them into punchlines. Most small children wouldn’t get a Kevin Bacon reference. Lol!

The penquins were all unique: Skipper being the Leader, Kawolski the brains, Rico the braun, and Private the cute one. They belonged to a cia type of group. The underlying message was that everyone has a role to play in accomplishing a goal, and what you look like doesn’t matter. Its what’s inside that counts. ~Dee Ford
