Happiness According to Jesus:What It Means to Be Blessed {Book Promotion}

“When he saw the crowds,* he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. He began to teach them, saying:

The Beatitudes

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.

Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5: 1-12)

To be honest, when I first got this book, I was a little hesitant on what a televangelist could bring to the table of a very devout cradle Catholic.  I am very open to venturing out in my reading, but my faith is very important and what I believe in, so I am always wary.

Needless to say, Happiness According to Jesus was a good read and I enjoyed it and here’s why….

In Happiness According to Jesus, Bobby Schuller takes the Sermon on the Mount from the Bible (Matthew Chapter 5) and discusses what it meant in Jesus’ time and also how it is interpreted in 2015, present day.   Times were so different then, but Bobby explains that they really weren’t that different from today.  They had anger, happiness, suffering, broken families, just like we do today.  He also emphasizes our personal importance and rising above by following the Sermon on the Mount and grasping what the Beatitudes are meant for all to realize that no matter where you are in life, with Christ, you have a bright future.   He also instills in us that every day is an opportunity to do what Jesus taught.  Don’t be afraid to get out there and be a doer for Jesus and experience happiness as Jesus intended.

Happiness According to Jesus can be purchased at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and anywhere books are sold.

Jesus is calling you to stop being so much of a talker and be much more of a doer.

Born in 1981, Bobby Schuller is a Christian pastor, writer, and televangelist. He is the grandson of Robert H. Schuller, founder of the Crystal Cathedral. Bobby now hosts the Hour of Power television program and is Senior Pastor of Shepherd’s Grove Church in Garden Grove, California, the congregation formerly known as the Crystal Cathedral.
