Ever bake a cookie and forget an ingredient? That is what happened in Kate Louise’s “Tough Cookie”. This little gingerbread man was made of eggs and cinnamon and flour and butter and sugar, but the baker forgot the most important ingredient….ginger! He can’t be sold at the bakery, so he lives in the back of the store causing all kinds of trouble. He squirts frosting on the walls, eats the bakers decorating candy and scatters sprinkles across the counter.
The baker gets so upset he orders the gingerbread man to leave, but the gingerbread man doesn’t want to. The baker then teaches the gingerbread man that niceness comes from him, not whether he has the right ingredients or not. The gingerbread man then begins to help the baker decorate the other gingerbread men and women.
Tough Cookie is for readers ages 3-6 and is a cute colorful illustrated story about being kind and finding happiness through helping others. Kids will love the mischief this little man gets into and how helpful he can be. Tough Cookie can be purchased at www.skyponypress.com or on Amazon.
