DIY Steering Wheel Covers

Imagine for a moment putting on your outdoor winter attire, including warm gloves prior to entering your car.  You may or may have not remembered to start the car to warm it up first, but either way you would like to take your gloves or mittens off for comfortable driving.  You are now frustrated to feel that the steering wheel is freezing!

I have seen steering wheel covers, but never really understood the significance except that it makes a great car decoration.  A friend of mine has a steering wheel cover to keep her hands warm during winter driving.  How clever, right?
