Planning for the Future? Non-Profit “Life Happens” – Interview
From Baby Boomers, to Gen X’ers to Millennials, everyone seems to want to live for today. Whether it’s taking that dream vacation or crossing things off your bucket list, people are not waiting to live life to the fullest today. And, surprisingly, a lot of us are also looking to the future and planning ahead.
When it comes to planning, a new study shows more of us are thinking about our futures including financially and health wise. For the first time, the 2016 Insurance Barometer Study looks at the use of wearable activity trackers and smart scales by Americans. The findings show that 51% of Millennials and 30% of people overall are very or extremely likely to consider wearing an activity tracker. They’re even willing to share those results with a life insurance company in return for financial rewards for healthy behaviors.
The survey also shows the three top planning issues for most people include:
- Having enough money for a comfortable retirement
- Paying for long-term care
- Paying for medical expenses
The survey was conducted jointly by non-for-profit research industry trade association known as LIMRA, and the non-profit educational organization Life Happens (dedicated to helping consumers take personal financial responsibility through ownership of life insurance and related products.)
Join me in a recent interview with Life Happen Chairman Cliff Wilson as he talks about the new study that shows more adults ARE planning for the future.
