Chipex Car Touch Up Paint – Holiday Product Review & Giveaway

I received a sample Chipex Road Rash Kit ($74.98 value) in exchange for this promotion. Any opinions expressed here are honest and my own.”

Chipex Background:

Chipex® was launched in 2009 so as to provide a fast, very effective and safe solution for the home user to repair paint damage to vehicles to a high standard, without the time and expense of going to a body shop.

The main objective was to make a product that gave both a superior finish compared to that of the conventional touch up paints and additionally was easy for the DIY novice to use.

Following its launch Chipex® has supplied thousands of kits worldwide to both retail and trade customers and is now proud to have received TUV Certification  on the products effectiveness and ease of use.

My free kit arrived approximately a little over a month once it was ordered, but there were a few issues making sure we had the right order code for the correct paint.  This product does ship from the UK and when asked regarding shipping timeframe since mine was on such a delay, I was quoted it would normally take approximately 2-3 weeks at a minimum to the States.

Upon opening the kit container, it had a HUGE paint smell (just like the typical repair shop smell, but in the convenience of my garage).  I was totally impressed how things are so neatly packaged and when I tried to put them back, nothing fits.  Packaging is WAY impressive!!  The kit came with gloves, microbrushes, paint, polish, a blend, paint removal cloth, microfiber aftercare cloth and a square foam block with detail instructions how to repair.

This repair is a 3-step process, unless you have a pearlescent finish and it can be a 4 step, which I had.  I had a slight confusion getting started because I was sent 2 different paints, but once I emailed the company, they explained it was because I had the 4-step process.  (Since the Chipex is in the UK, emailing is the best alternative to calling here in the States and I received a timely response.)

My repair was on the hood of my car, assuming stone chips.  First I was instructed to paint and then blend and then paint and then polish.  For me, this took a total of 3 days to complete the process.  Can it take less time, absolutely, as it can be done in a day, but then your car must stay dry and be dry from the previous painting, blending, polishing, etc, you work it around your schedule.

All in all, the processes went quite easy.    Chipex sent every item I needed to repair.  The color, I would say is a perfect match.  If you really look closely, you can see that there was a repair to the spot, but in the pics you really cannot.  Since the repair was on the angle part of my hood, it is hard to see the clearness and cleanliness of the repair in my before and after pics because of the glare of the shiny car and reflections.

Would I recommend this product…absolutely!   Price range for the repair kit is now on sale for $49.99 and you can also get just a single paint bottle for $29.99.  Would highly recommend the kit as it has the extras to make the process more forgiving and can buff out other nicks, scratches on the vehicle.

For our review and promotion, Chipex is offering a giveaway now thru December 5, 2016 for one of their Chipex Bundles (the same kit I got).  Offer and giveaway open to the USA and Canada.  Click here to win.
