We’ll Get Through This Together is a sweet children’s picture book told by a black Labrador’s perspective on offering comfort and reassurance to a child diagnosed with cancer or any other life-threatening illness.  This book touches base on entering the hospital to talking about strange machines and doctors and medicines that may make you feel yucky in the hospital. All this may seem scary, BUT in this book, no matter what, the black lab reassures the child that “We’ll get through this together!”

We’ll Get Through This Together is an encouraging story for those with a serious illness and it shares the bond between animals and children and their need to be comforted and loved unconditionally.  Adults alike can be comforted too by this book.

About the Author

Ulrike Szalay, MPP, is the founder of the Canines-N-Kids Foundation.  Her love for dogs along with her previous work in the biotech industry working with cancer drug development, led her to find the connections between these two previously parallel fields to find treatment and cures for both childhood and canine cancers.  She currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband, three children and black lab Pancho, who is an ambassador in training for the foundation.
