Are you concerned that your health isn’t as good as it could be? If so, then you are not alone. So many people are in the same position as you are, but there are things you can do to turn things around.

You are Bloated

Just because you eat your greens and follow your doctor’s orders, doesn’t mean that your health is in the clear. A little bit of post-dinner bloat is normal, but sometimes it is a sign that there is a more serious health issue at hand. Simple reasons for bloating happen to include constipation, reflux or overeating.

Some more serious conditions inflammation, irritable bowel syndrome and even Chron’s disease. When you eat too much, or when you eat food that you are not supposed to be eating, you may well experience temporary discomfort. You might not feel great for half an hour or so too. After this point, though it will dissipate, and your digestive system will then take over. If you have this happen more times than you’d care to admit or if you find that your pain lasts for up to 24 hours after, then you should pay your doctor a visit.

You Snore

Snoring happens when air cannot move through your mouth and nose. The muscles in your throat relax and sometimes, your tongue slips back. When this happens, you will make a noise as you breathe in. If you have started snoring but you have never done so in the past then it may be that you have nasal polyps, a stuffy nose or even adenoids.

If you have had a lot to drink or if you are overweight, then your risk of snoring increases. If you snore quite a lot, then you may struggle with obstructive sleep apnoea. This happens when your upper airways become blocked, causing you to stop breathing for a few seconds. Treatment for this condition include you trying to lose weight or seeking help for your allergies. If you do struggle with allergies, then one thing you can do is chat with the experts at Becker ENT & Allergy.

You Struggle with Gas

Passing gas up to 21 times a day is very normal. A lot more, or even a lot less, can indicate that you have a problem. If you are not passing gas, then this indicates that your bowels are not functioning as they should. Passing gas too much can indicate that you have some kind of food intolerance or that you are struggling with a gastric disorder.

You should go and see a doctor if you suspect that you have any IBS problems, especially if they are accompanied by unexplained weight loss, blood in your bowel movements or even heartburn.

You’re Constantly Tired

If you feel tired regardless of what you do, or how much sleep you get then it is always a good idea for you to chat with your doctor. Fatigue comes down to a lack of energy and motivation. It is a normal response to you having a lot of physical activity, stress and even boredom.

That being said, fatigue can also indicate that you have a health problem. If you miss out on sleep then this can indicate that you have a health condition, which can range from severe kidney disease to cancer and even a thyroid disorder. Chronic infection is also a major red flag, so make sure that you look out for this if possible.

You Can’t Sleep

It’s one thing for you to have trouble falling asleep when you aren’t tired at all, but if you are exhausted and still can’t sleep then you should bring this up to your doctor. Acute insomnia is very short-term, but it can be brought on by stress or even a traumatic event.

Chronic insomnia is a major issue and although it can be caused by aging. It can also be caused by consuming too much caffeine. Medications can contribute to it, and so can mental conditions. This can include anxiety and depression.

Either way, if you can’t sleep then this can indicate that your body is in big trouble, so make sure that you take steps to try and help yourself if you can. If you don’t then you may find that you end up experiencing major issues later down the line.

You have Bad Breath

Bad breath is also known as halitosis. This is one of the main reasons why people seek out dental referrals. If you have gum disease or if you have tooth decay, then this could indicate that you have a major problem. Bad breath is usually caused by a build-up of bad bacteria on your tongue or teeth. Sure, it can be linked to you not brushing your teeth enough, but it can also be attributed to sinusitis and tonsillitis.

Some gastrointestinal issues are also linked to bad breath. If you know that brushing and flossing aren’t helping you then now is the time for you to pay a visit to your dentist or doctor. If you don’t then you may find that the issue only ends up getting worse and this can impact your health even more. If you have bad teeth and you do not go and visit your dentist, then you may find that you are at higher risk of heart disease. Luckily, this can all be avoided if you take charge of your oral health today.

So, as you can see, there are numerous signs that your health isn’t as good as it could be, and if you want to help yourself then the best thing you can do is make a positive change. If you do that sooner rather than later, then you will be able to turn things around for yourself. If you want to benefit yourself even more then you need to make sure that you book an appointment with your doctor, as they can give you a general check-up to make sure that everything is as it should be in terms of your overall health.
