One Warm Coat Day 2023 Awareness Campaign!

One Warm Coat Day 2023 Awareness Campaign!

“On October 17th, 2023, join us for a nationwide initiative to share warmth across the country through coat drives and donation centers, or become an ambassador by hosting a coat drive in your community.” ~One Warm Coat

One Warm Coat Day’s mission is to provide free coats to children and adults in need while promoting volunteerism and environmental sustainability.

Shelter from the elements is a basic human need, alongside nourishing food, drinkable water, and a safe place to sleep. Since 1992, One Warm Coat has facilitated 49,000 coat drives nationwide, collecting 8 million coats distributed through more than 1,500 nonprofit partners.

This annual awareness campaign highlights people in need.

“Unlike last year when One Warm Coat held physical coat distributions across the country, this year, due to ongoing pandemic uncertainties, all staff will be working from their home offices.”

One Warm Coat Day is similar to a Giving Tuesday event, encouraging people to get involved in creating awareness about the need for warmth and taking action in one of three ways:

By participating in coat drives and donation centers or taking on the role of an ambassador hosting a coat drive, individuals from all walks of life can actively contribute to a collective effort that goes beyond the act of donating a coat. It’s a chance for communities to unite, fostering a spirit of compassion and solidarity as everyone comes together on October 17th, 2023, for One Warm Coat Day.
