Volunteers of America Thrift Store Needs Metro Detroiter’s Donations During National Cleaning Week!

Volunteers of America Thrift Stores are looking for the items metro Detroit residents are discarding as we head into National Cleaning Week – March 23-29, 2025, which will again focus on the annual season when people traditionally clean their homes and clear out items they no longer need before the summer season begins.

According to The American Cleaning Institute,

78% of Americans are spending an average of six days spring cleaning their homes, with the top three rooms being the kitchens (64%), bedrooms (61%), and bathrooms (59%) (source here).

So, for many the question then becomes what to do with the items they no longer want or use?

The Volunteers of America Michigan Thrift Store in Westland located at 34800 Warren Rd., welcomes these donated items and proceeds from every purchase at their stores support social services for veterans, seniors, and families in that community.
