First 500 guests to receive free life jackets in support of summer water safety!

WHAT:

Gardner White and the Huron-Clinton Metroparks are teaming up to host a free Family Summer Kickoff Party on Wednesday, June 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Gardner White’s flagship store in Warren. As part of its ongoing commitment to eliminating swim safety barriers, the Metroparks, in partnership with Gardner White, will hand out free life jackets to the first 500 guests.

The family-friendly event will also include snacks and refreshments, children’s games, hands-on activities, character meet-and-greets, and music and dancing with Ralph Thompkins, owner of SWAG Kids Gym. Guests are encouraged to register in advance here.

“We are proud to partner with Huron-Clinton Metroparks to distribute free life jackets to families in our community and promote critical water safety awareness,” said Rachel Stewart, CEO of Gardner White. “To celebrate this important initiative, we are also hosting a free Summer Kick-Off Party for families—a day filled with fun activities, educational resources, and community spirit. It’s our way of bringing families together to start the season safely and joyfully.”

“Nothing kicks off summer quite like knowing you and your loved ones have the proper swim equipment to safely enjoy Michigan’s beaches and pools,” said Metroparks CEO Amy McMillan. “However, we know cost and access to life jackets are barriers to many families in Macomb County. By partnering with Gardner White on this free event, we can reach families where they are—their community—and help set them up for a fun summer.”

Metroparks and partners across Southeast Michigan are offering free swim lessons through Everyone in the Pool. Gardner White is a proud sponsor of this important initiative. For more information about Everyone in the Pool, visit here.
