- Cedar Point tops the list with 17,792 monthly Google
searches, despite being located in Ohio. - Out-of-state attractions account for over half of Michigan’s top ten most searched ticket destinations.
- Michigan’s Adventure is the most popular in-state attraction with 3,023 monthly Google searches.
A new study by SeatPick, a trusted tickets comparison site, has revealed that Cedar Point is the most Googled attraction ticket in Michigan. The average monthly Google search volume was analyzed over a 12-month period to determine which attractions Michigan residents are searching for the most.
Theme parks take their share of vacation budgets every year,
and since there are so many options, it’s hard for the average family to decide which ones to visit. To determine the attractions with the biggest search interest, a Tripadvisor list of popular U.S. theme parks was utilized to determine which search terms originate from Michigan.
Cedar Point ranks first with 17,792 Google searches a month. Located in Ohio, this park has 17 roller coasters, water rides, and is beachfront on Lake Erie.
Walt Disney World Resort ranks second with 6,850 Google searches a month. The Florida resort receives more ticket searches from Michigan residents than the next two most popular attractions combined, despite being located over 1,000 miles away.
Michigan’s Adventure is the highest ranking in-state destination with 3,023 monthly Google searches. It is the state’s largest amusement and water park, offering over 60 rides, slides, and attractions across 250 acres.
Universal Studios Florida ranks fourth with 1,336 monthly Google searches. This Orlando-based theme park maintains significant appeal for Michigan residents planning Florida vacations other than Disney.
Dollywood Theme Park in Tennessee is fifth with 1,292 monthly Google searches from Michigan residents. The Dolly Parton-owned theme park just overtook Michigan’s Glenlore Trails in search volume.

Glenlore Trails, in Michigan, ranks sixth with 1,090 monthly Google searches. Glenlore Trails is an immersive, family-friendly nighttime forest walk with a unique theme, offering a blend of light, sound, and interactive experiences.
Magic Kingdom Park in Florida ranks seventh with 754 monthly Google searches. LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan follows in eighth with 718 monthly Google searches.
Epcot in Florida ranks ninth with 643 monthly Google searches. Kings Island in Ohio rounds out the top ten with 542 monthly Google searches.
Gilad Zilberman, CEO of SeatPick, commented on the findings: “These search patterns reveal fascinating insights about entertainment preferences in Michigan. Cedar Point’s dominance in searches from Michigan shows the enduring appeal of theme parks that aren’t too far from home.
“It’s particularly interesting that despite Michigan being home to many wonderful attractions, less than half of the top ten searches are for in-state destinations. This suggests many Michigan residents are planning significant vacation trips rather than just weekend outings.”
Methodology:
Data was gathered via Google search volume analytics tools, which provided monthly search volumes for attraction ticket-related terms originating from Michigan over the past 12 months. The attractions were sourced from Tripadvisor.
