PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (August 2025) – Families looking for sensory-friendly play opportunities will want to mark their calendars, as WonderWorks Pigeon Forge is gearing up to host a Sensory Day this month. The fun-filled, sensory-friendly event will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 2 pm to 6 pm, providing everyone with accessible family fun as they kick off the fall season. During this event, WonderWorks Adventure tickets are only $15 per person, plus tax, at the door. Everyone is invited to explore all the upside-down house has to offer in a modified way.

“It’s our goal to spread the wonder of WonderWorks to as many people as possible, so we’re looking forward to hosting our next Sensory Day!” said Ellen Holland, education sales manager at WonderWorks Pigeon Forge. “These events are always a blast. They’re a great way for everyone to have some hands-on fun in a comfortable environment.”

Sensory Day provides a fun and safe setting throughout the attraction for those who may otherwise feel overstimulated. During the event, the exhibits will be slightly altered to make them more sensory-friendly and provide less stimulation for guests with special needs. In addition to lowering the music throughout the facility, WonderWorks will also turn off loud exhibits, and the spinning Inversion Tunnel will be stopped.

Making these minor alterations during Sensory Day,

will help everyone enjoy the facility without feeling overwhelmed. It provides an excellent experience for both families and organizations that want to offer their students a unique learning opportunity that is fun, interactive, and memorable. Special education classes should consider this event for an unforgettable field trip.

Guests can comfortably explore the upside-down house and its exhibits, which are all STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics). Each exhibit has been designed to provide opportunities to use the imagination, practice motor skills, problem solve, and more. There is something for all ages available, providing a fun and engaging learning environment for everyone. More information about Sensory Day can be found online.

“Our upside-down laboratory is truly one of the best places to learn outside the classroom. We work closely with local teachers and parents to ensure young minds will enjoy their visit while gaining hands-on experiences in the topics they’re learning about in school,” said Joe Baumgartner, general manager at WonderWorks Pigeon Forge.
