Epic Film Slate to Showcase Metro Detroit’s Most Advanced IMAX Technology Including Highly Anticipated Sequels, Anniversary Screenings and Major Franchise Returns.

Bloomfield Hills, MI, August 19, 2025 — MJR Theatres is thrilled to announce an extraordinary lineup of blockbuster films coming to both IMAX locations at MJR Troy and MJR Southgate Cinemas through the remainder of 2025. The Troy location, which recently debuted Michigan’s largest laser IMAX screen with luxury reclining seating, joins MJR Southgate’s established IMAX auditorium to bring Metro Detroit moviegoers the ultimate cinematic experience.

The impressive schedule kicks off with a special 50th Anniversary screening of “Jaws” on August 29, offering audiences the chance to experience Spielberg’s classic thriller on the big screen like never before.

September delivers horror and action with “The Conjuring: Last Rites” (September 5), the comedy sequel “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues” (September 12), and the highly anticipated anime feature “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” (September 12). The month concludes with “Him” (September 19) and “One Battle After Another” (September 26).

October features the return of James Cameron’s underwater epic,

with a re-release of “Avatar: The Way of Water” (October 3), followed by the cyberpunk sequel “Tron: Ares” (October 10) and the fighting game adaptation “Mortal Kombat 2” (October 24).

November delivers a thrilling lineup of IMAX experiences, beginning with “Predator: Badlands” (November 7) and “The Running Man” (November 14), then transitioning to the musical spectacle “Wicked: For Good” (November 21) before closing out the month with Disney’s “Zootopia 2” (November 26).

The year concludes with what is sure to be one of the most anticipated films of 2025: “Avatar: Fire and Ash” opening December 19, bringing James Cameron’s groundbreaking franchise back to IMAX screens.

DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA INFINITY CASTLE: Tanjiro Kamado – a boy who joined an organization dedicated to hunting down demons called the Demon Slayer Corps after his younger sister Nezuko was turned into a demon.

While growing stronger and deepening his friendships and bonds with fellow corps members, Tanjiro has battled many demons with his comrades, Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira. Along the way, his journey has led him to fight alongside the Demon Slayer Corps’ highest-ranking swordsmen, the Hashira, including Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku aboard the Mugen Train, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui within the Entertainment District, as well as Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji at the Swordsmith Village.

As the Demon Slayer Corps members and Hashira engaged in a group strength training program, the Hashira Training, in preparation for the forthcoming battle against the demons, Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. With the head of the Demon Corps in danger, Tanjiro and the Hashira rush to the headquarters but are plunged into a deep descent to a mysterious space by the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji.

The destination of where Tanjiro and Demon Slayer Corps have fallen is the demons’ stronghold – the Infinity Castle. And so, the battleground is set as the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons ignites.
