Celebrating National Daughter’s Day with Impact – Sept. 25!
CELEBRATING THE GIFT OF DAUGHTERS: NATIONAL CHARITY LEAGUE HONORS NATIONAL DAUGHTER’S DAY BY INVESTING IN FUTURE WOMEN LEADERS!
Dallas, TX (September 2025) — National Daughter’s Day, observed on September 25, is a heartfelt reminder of the invaluable bond between parents and their daughters. This day invites families everywhere to pause, reflect, and celebrate the unique joy and inspiration daughters bring to our lives. The philanthropic organization National Charity League, Inc. (NCL), the nation’s premier mother-daughter non-profit organization, is proud to mark this occasion with a meaningful gesture that both honors daughters and invests in the next generation of women leaders.
“National Daughter’s Day is more than just a day on the calendar,” said Nancy Dean CEO of National Charity League, Inc. “It’s an opportunity to recognize the strength, compassion, and promise our daughters carry into the world. By honoring them in meaningful ways, we’re not only showing love, but also investing in their ability to lead with purpose and kindness. Their projects not only meet pressing community needs but also demonstrate the incredible potential of youth-led philanthropy.”
The Linda Martens Ticktocker Inspire Innovation Fund, launched to foster innovative service initiatives, provides young women with financial support to turn their ideas into meaningful action. Through the Inspire Innovation Fund, NCL, Inc. reaffirms its commitment to cultivating the next generation of women leaders who are equipped to create meaningful change in their communities.
“I am so proud that our idea is coming to life,” said Elise Gledhill, a Ticktocker from the Cherry Blossom Chapter in Fairfax County, Virginia. “This project gave us the unique opportunity to push the bounds of our imaginations for the good of our communities, emphasizing the dedication and creativity of every person involved with NCL.”
“Through our mother-daughter pickleball tournament, we not only raised funds for underserved schools in Los Angeles, but we also strengthened the bonds that make our chapter so meaningful,” said Lorelei Davis, Ticktocker, South Bay Chapter (Southern California). “With support from Linda Martens Ticktocker Inspire Innovation Fund, we were able to bring innovation to life through one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, while building connections across generations. This project allowed me to witness change in real time — from empowering girls in my chapter to giving back to our community in ways we couldn’t have imagined without this opportunity.”
This year’s 2025 Inspire Innovation Fund Grant Recipients went to NCL daughters:
Sports for All – South Bay Chapter, CA
Focused on increasing access to sports for underserved youth, this project shines a light on limited opportunities for K–5 students in the Greater Los Angeles area. The chapter will host a tournament to raise funds and purchase sports equipment for 48 schools in need.
Deaf Awareness Day – Riverside Chapter, CA
Entirely envisioned by Ticktockers, this initiative engages the deaf community by promoting awareness and cultural connection through games, art workshops, and ASL learning opportunities. Riverside is one of only three California cities with a deaf specialty school, making this project particularly impactful.
The NCL Tiny Home Project – Lake Washington Chapter, WA
Partnering with Sound Foundations Northwest, members will construct and paint a durable tiny home to provide safe, long-term housing for an unhoused resident in Seattle. Built to last at least 20 years, the project addresses the city’s urgent homelessness crisis while also fostering empathy and practical skills in youth.
Teaching STEM with Sparkles – Cherry Blossom Chapter, VA
Created by the Ticktocker Council, this initiative partners with She Believes in Me, Hope Center, and Women Giving Back. Members will lead DIY soap-making workshops for more than 200 participants, sparking creativity, encouraging handwashing, and inspiring women and girls to explore STEM pathways.
